Last week was a busy week for the crew at Klündt | Hosmer. I'm not just talking work, but about the after-hours business and social events that we attended.

Wednesday, March 9
On Wednesday, Klündt | Hosmer's partners attended a special dinner at the Davenport Hotel sponsored by Chitwood-Pedey, a financial services group within D.A. Davidson. Bruce Pedey handles some of our personal and business investments and each year he and his partner, Monte Chitwood, host a client dinner as a "thank you" for their client's continued faith in their expertise and services. It was a great dinner with a couple of informative presentations on the investment market from Fidelity Investments and on estate planning, from a D.A. Davidson expert.
Not only are we pleased with how D.A. Davidson handles our investments, but we are proud to serve their company as a branding and marketing partner with materials we developed for Chitwood-Pedey and Davidson Companies, including their 2010 "Two Steps Forward. One Step at a Time" annual report.
Thursday, March 10
On Thursday evening, my wife, Chris, and I attended the 3rd Annual "Celebrating Salish Conference", a special dinner event at Northern Quest Resort & Casino. This event was hosted by our client, the Kalispel Tribe. A highlight of the evening was the world's first-ever Salish Karaoke Contest, where talented Salish speaking performers sang to popular songs such as, Waterfalls, I'm So Lonesome (I Could Cry), and even an Elvis classic.
It is wonderful how the Kalispel Tribe is working to bring the Salish language back into common use among tribal members across the Northwest. They are experiencing great success and Klündt | Hosmer is proud to have helped sponsor the language conference.
Friday, March 11
Friday night, a group from Klündt | Hosmer attended the Spokane Advertising Federation ADDY Awards at the Fox Theater. The attendees had a great time and we walked away with six ADDY Awards. Details on the show and awards will come in an upcoming edition of our Spotlight newsletter.
Saturday, March 12
On Saturday, Darin, Jean, Chris and I were honored to attend the 7th Annual Rypien Foundation Winemakers Dinner at the Manito Country Club. This fundraising event was hosted by our client, The Rypien Foundation. Mark Rypien was the Superbowl MVP quarterback of the Washington Redskins. He lost a six-year-old son to childhood cancer 13 years ago and personally knows the pain and difficulty parents and families go through in this struggle. His foundation was established to help families that are fighting through the challenges of childhood cancer. They have many inspiring stories to share.
The dinner event was fabulous. The innovative six-course menu was paired with an amazing selection of wines from regional wineries and an auction raised funds for services to help these families. What a great reason to put on a tux!
We are proud to work with Mark Rypien and his foundation President, Randy Brawner in supporting the Rypien Foundation with our branding and design services. You can learn more about the Rypien Foundation online.
I think we're all glad to have a few quieter evenings this week!
